David Rodrigues est auteur-réalisateur et producteur indépendant. Depuis plus de dix ans, il écrit et autoproduit des courts-métrages qui lui permettent d’affirmer un style à la fois sensible et engagé. À ce jour, il a signé sept courts-métrages, dont Je fuis donc je vis, véritable succès en festivals internationaux avec 44 prix remportés et plus de 100 sélections. Son travail, souvent centré sur des thématiques sociales fortes comme la santé mentale ou la lutte contre les violences faites aux femmes, se distingue par une approche immersive et poétique.
En parallèle de ses créations, il a suivi de nombreuses formations reconnues pour perfectionner son écriture et sa production : en 2020 avec Isabelle Blanchard (Drama Drama, optimiser son scénario avec la dramaturgie), en 2021 avec Pascal Rey (Écrire un court-métrage, Dreamago) et avec Jean-Marie Roth (Écrire son premier long-métrage de fiction). En 2022, il poursuit sa formation à la Maison du Film avec Richard Sidi (Pitcher son projet de film, Créer sa société de production), ainsi qu’à la Fémis (Constituer un dossier de financement en production). Ces expériences lui permettent aujourd’hui de développer plusieurs projets ambitieux, notamment son premier long-métrage.
Actuellement, il se consacre également à La Cabane Perchée, un projet transmedia autour d’un album jeunesse qu’il a écrit et fait illustrer par Emmanuelle Moreau. Destiné à sensibiliser les enfants à la santé mentale, ce livre s’accompagne d’une version audio, d’un dossier pédagogique, d’activités manuelles, et sera décliné en film d’animation ainsi qu’en court-métrage de fiction.
En 2024, il fonde l’association Passion Cinoche, qui initie les jeunes de 8 à 18 ans aux métiers du cinéma. Pendant deux jours, les participants écrivent, tournent et jouent dans un film, présenté ensuite sur grand écran lors d’une projection publique en salle. À travers cette démarche, David partage sa conviction profonde : le cinéma est un outil de lien, d’éducation et d’émancipation.
David Rodrigues is an independent writer, director, and producer. For more than ten years, he has been writing and self-producing short films, developing a style that is both sensitive and socially engaged. To date, he has created seven short films, including I Run, Therefore I Live, a true success on the international festival circuit, with 44 awards and over 100 official selections. His work, often focused on powerful social themes such as mental health and the fight against violence against women, stands out for its immersive and poetic approach.
Alongside his creative work, he has completed numerous renowned training programs to refine his writing and production skills: in 2020 with Isabelle Blanchard (Drama Drama: Optimize Your Script with Dramaturgy), in 2021 with Pascal Rey (Writing a Short Film, Dreamago) and Jean-Marie Roth (Writing Your First Fiction Feature Film). In 2022, he continued at La Maison du Film with Richard Sidi (Pitch Your Project, Creating Your Production Company) and at La Fémis (Building a Financing Dossier in Production). These experiences now allow him to develop several ambitious projects, including his first feature film.
He is also currently working on The Treehouse, a transmedia project based on a children’s book he wrote, illustrated by Emmanuelle Moreau. Aimed at raising children’s awareness about mental health, the book is accompanied by an audio version, an educational guide, hands-on activities, and will be adapted into both an animated film and a fiction short film.
In 2024, he founded the association Passion Cinoche, which introduces young people aged 8 to 18 to the world of cinema. Over two days, participants write, shoot, and act in a film, which is then screened on the big screen at a local theater. Through this initiative, David shares his deep conviction: cinema is a tool for connection, education, and empowerment.
